Donations

Outreach Mission, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (Federal ID: 56-1653062). Both the Men’s and Women’s Shelters operate on a very modest budget, and we gladly welcome monetary donations to help offset the daily costs of running our facilities.

We are deeply committed to being wise stewards of every dollar entrusted to us. While we are actively pursuing grants and government funding, our work is made possible by the continued generosity of individuals, churches, and businesses within our community. Approximately 80% of our budget is supported by these private donations, which fund everything from insurance and staff salaries to utilities, building maintenance, and emergency repairs.

In many cases, donations also meet individual resident needs—such as purchasing steel-toe boots for a new job, covering transportation costs for family reunification, or helping someone enter a rehabilitation facility. On average, the cost to shelter one resident for one night is $15, and we serve about 36 individuals per night between both shelters.

If you feel led to support Outreach Mission financially, there are several ways to give. Donations may be delivered in person at our main office, located at 705 Chatham Street, Sanford, during the week from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You may also choose to give online or send a check or money order by mail. Please make checks payable to:

Future Plans

Thanks to generous grant funding and private donations, we are excited to announce the construction of our new shelter at 507 Third Street.
